South Pines SPACE

There are lots of opportunities for you to fulfill your volunteer commitment!  Our program couldn't be what it is without parent and family involvement.  Our dedication of service to the teachers and students provides the classrooms with extra academic support for the students from volunteers, enhanced curricular activities, facilitate community social events, and so much more.

If you are looking for ideas to help you meet your volunteer hours, the following list is a good starting point.  Each class also has a class lead, who can also help find volunteer opportunities that work with your schedule.  The Board members are also happy to help you find ways to fulfill your volunteer hours commitment.  All non-S.P.A.C.E. classroom volunteer work counts as double hours, as well as childcare during the monthly general meetings.   Attending meetings and socials also counts towards your required volunteer hours.  Don't forget to log your hours with the date, volunteer work done, and the minutes.  Hours can be submitted to your class lead at the time completed or at the monthly meetings.

Also, don't forget all volunteers need to update their volunteer forms each year in order to volunteer in the school or attend any field trip.  To register or update your volunteer application, please visit the following link.  Approval and updating may take some time.  If you are planning on attending any upcoming activities, field trips, parties, or being in the school, please plan accordingly to apply far enough in advance to get approval.  Click the following button to take you to Central Valley's Volunteer page.

We appreciate all of the help that parents and family members provide to help support our teachers and students.  If there is work that can be done at home, doing prep work such as cutting, sorting, and preparing activities, the teachers will make them available on this sign-up link.  Teachers plan the due dates for these volunteer opportunities around their plans for completing the lessons and activities, so we ask that you please be sure to have the completed volunteer work finished no later than their posted due dates.
